Wow! I'm breathless after so much emotional turmoil. I love this Draco. He made a terrible mistake, but instead of brooding - he sought counsel and then actually did what he was told to do (despite his fear). Narcissa is a very nice touch to the story.
And I just want to wrap Harry up in hugs. Apparently he's taken the prophecy more literal than usual. He seems to think that since he's the one who has to face Voldemort - he has to do everything alone. His rationale that the less Draco knows about him, the less he'll miss him when he dies - broke my heart.
And I must admit - although I'm in a particularly Ron/Hermione bashing mood lately (other fics) - I do like how they help Harry. Its amazing how completely Ron, Hermione and Draco each fulfill different roles in Harry's life.
Now if only Snape would pull his head out of his ass. I know he's afraid of being vulnerable - but DAMN! He keeps making the same damn mistake over and over.
I love the way you've drawn such clear differences in the thought patterns of Slytherins and Gryffindors. Its absolutely brilliant. I also like how committed to 'friendship' Draco is - at least Harry realizes that he and Draco do not have a 'simple' friendship - though neither of them have a clue as to why that is.
Your characterizations are awesome.
Kudos to you!
