I read both this and it's companion piece in one sitting, for the second time, and I'm as much in awe of it now as I was the first time. I've all too often read stories where, in order to reconcile Harry's relationship with the Malfoys, they find a need to lessen everyone. Part of what makes the Malfoys so deliciously, evilly intriguing is that they do what they think they know is best for them, and have a strong sense of family pride and unity that, even in the books, came before everything and everyone else. However, it didn't necessarily weaken them, or make them fluffy bunnies on the inside. It just made them, Malfoys. And you wrote that so wonderfully, fully capturing their essence, that sense of Family, both the stubborn prideful parts, and also the softer caring parts, without sacrificing anything that made that family so interesting in the first place.
It was interesting to see the same story from two different view points, and see the similiraties and differences in throught and action to the same situation. It just went to show that communitcation is important.
I appreciated Harry's willingness to compromise and recognize that the Malfoys needed to do things a certain way, and he showed a certain maturity when he still argued and fought for his own view point. He was able and willing to accept becoming a Malfoy yet still keep the core of Harry-ness.
The stories were written with grace, detail and such obvious thought and love that it was a pure pleasure to read them. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely
