oh, I loved this. the subtlties that played out over the course of two decades, the growing clarity in their minds, the soft, slow burn that was created between them that finally burst into flame in the end. the idea that convenience and being comfortable were not enough to make life worth living, that passion was what created spontaneity and love and freedom. and you kept it all canon and even managed to shy away from infidelity, which, I admit, is not something that I probably would have done with the same story idea. a great read, thank you.
