Okay, wooo. I have been waiting and waiting for what the next chapter will hold since I realised what this fic was about. And for the scenes we saw here!
I am worried for Narcissa in the next scene, mind you, because she's been trying so hard, and Harry is going to be so unkind and it's not his fault and not hers but simply honest. But I'm so sorry for it, because even in this chapter she is working so hard to balance things and worry about it from both ends - which even Draco isn't doing - and and and *cries*
I do like Lucius. I sometimes think Lucius and Harry would get on well in this fic, in the After of The End. And I like that Lucius sees that there will be times when Harry doesn't get on quite so dependently or smoothly with Narcissa or Draco.
And poor Draco. If I hadn't read Bloody But Unbowed I'd feel sorry for him. But he is a nit. And I suspect that compromises are all he will reach with Harry on this sort of behaviour.
It's good to see the Malfoy family in crisis mode together for someone outside (however much that outside can be when he's adopted into the family). I like how they come together and work together - and acknowledge each other's virtues as well as their flaws, and this is really Lucius' first compliment, as far as I recall in this fic.
And Narcissa loves Harry! Wheee! I want Lucius to love Harry too! (I'm fangirling.)
