I agree with you that Harry's resignation is rather sad. But I also agree with him - he deserves unconditionality. Draco hasn't been giving him that so far.

Harry has a condition, that's true - but that condition is unconditionality. Which is something everyone should ask for. He can't stay with Draco if Draco puts every hope into magical plastic surgery. Because it could go either way. And if there's no complete healing, then Harry still has to hang on and trust - with no validation for that trust at present. Draco's kneejerk revulsion extends to his son at the moment. I wouldn't trust a man like that to love me when I got old and fat. I wouldn't dare, unless he promised me he'd love me either way, even if he likes my body better lithe. And I wouldn't be with a man who said, Well, we can always keep going to the gym and there's always botox. And between Draco and Harry the aesthetic problem goes deeper, because there's no guarantee. Draco's condition assumes that that guarantee exists.

... Um. I don't mean to pick a fight. I just feel extremely strongly about things and have motor mouth even when I'm typing.
