And no, Harry never thought that Draco would see his friends as allies. He is willing to accept that Draco has changed from being a Death Eater, but he never accepted that Draco would change his mind about matters of blood purity and political affiliation. That's one of the reasons it took him so long to understand the Malfoys in the original story; he thought they would always despise him for being a half-blood, and so he was looking for traps in the comforts and help they were trying to offer him.
