This story is starting to make me unbelievably sad. I love the Lucius/Narcissa stuff in this chapter. It has a quiet, haunted feel to it, that really lends to the story, and the characterization of both characters.
On the other hand, the fact is, Draco has these two parents completely dedicated to protecting him, even though one is deceased (though, I'm feeling a little up in the air about that). Unfortunately, due to the fact that he's a completely obsessed and stubborn idiot, the biggest threat to his own happiness is himself. That's a pretty impressive statement, considering he has an imposter attacking him, breaking into his house, etc.
As much as Hermoine and the ring was bothering me last chapter, I'm glad Harry's keeping it on for now. As much as I love Harry, he just doesn't think rationally (for long) around Draco. He's like a smitten, affection-starved puppy sometimes, and may need his friends prodding him to take a second look at Draco's words and actions.
