I admit I'm addicted to magical houses, too; there are fics I've read where I don't really enjoy the writing or the main pairing, simply because I've read reviews that said they had excellent descriptions of magical houses. In most of what I write, those details haven't been appropriate, so I haven't added them before (and I'm wary of long descriptive passages, which can sometimes clog and slow a fic). It went so well that I may use it more often in the future.
I haven't read many stories where the Malfoys adopt Harry when he's an adult, only as a child. I think the experience would be a little overwhelming for a child, and Harry might have come out with some really warped views on Muggleborns (which the Malfoys do, I believe, hold). As an adult, he can give them what they need and take what he needs without them simply dominating his world-view.

Glad you liked the other characterizations.
I'll see what I can do about that fic. :)
