AMWM 19 (aka Pride Goeth)

The tension here was excellent, but Harry was masterful in his deductions and allegations! His Slytherin instincts guiding him to make statements both real and questionable while placing the onus back on Diggory was fantastic.

As I mentioned before, I really thought Diggory was overshooting but I was perplexed (as perhaps everyone else) regarding his true motivations. It took a re-read to really see that this was one of almost adolescent unwillingness to let go of a "grudge." The pride of a pure-blood being such a burden to pursuing more reasonable options?! It's almost as if Harry, Draco, Hermione, et al. have grown up and Diggory et al. have grown only more conceited.

Shacklebot in full-on warrior mode must make quite a sight and all I could think was finally! And kudos to Fristfruits for taking a stand to end the charade. Harry's observation that "they were like most wizards, sheep led along by the loudest call." was bankable. The population of the Wizengamot, much like the rest of Wizarding Britain, really does seem to be sheep-like and only those voices bold enough are given sway, at least initially. But when competing questions are actually raised by peers, the pendulum swings back.

I suspect Kingsley's Patronus was to gather more loyal Aurors? I do wonder if censure is akin to arrest? Rita's exclusive is getting better and better, isn't it?

I see us approaching the denouement of this trilogy and I can't tell you how much this story's ride has been a thrilling experience! Thanks you very much!
