That's an interesting analysis of Harry. I would say that he's content with his life, if not exactly ecstatic over it. (Part of it is that this story opens at a bad time, when he's still not over his previous lover). He retains hope and the ability to get back on his feet. The main thing he's lost is his assurance that everything will work out great. He knows that he may lose what he really wants and be forced to put up with less.
Draco needs some time to realize that Harry actually is different; he came into the situation assuming Harry would try to trick or poison his father.
Emptyweed gets even more dislikable for a while, but I do hope to redeem him eventually.
